About Quartz Worktops
Quartz is an ideal choice for kitchen worktops and bathroom vanity units and countertops due to its strength and durability. It is made from 93% quartz and 7% resin. This creates a composite material that is highly hard-wearing and is equally as popular as granite for kitchen work surfaces.
Our range of quartz worktops is vast, the range of colours and patterns means there is something for every home, from bright whites to absolute black and everything in between. There are even different textures like suede and mirror to add an extra design element to your home. Quartz is a totally maintenance-free work surface after completion: because it is non-porous and not subject to staining it doesn’t require sealing like marble and granite. It is also scratch-resistant, but not scratch proof so chopping onto the surface may scratch it. With some gentle care, it will remain looking as good as new for years to come.
Caring for your quartz worktops
Cleaning your quartz worktops is easy, as they require little maintenance, just wipe them with soapy water then polish them with a soft cloth. Never use anything abrasive on your quartz worktops or you will scratch them. Quartz is non-porous and has been sealed to provide a protective layer. Some of our worktops even have antibacterial properties impregnated into them.
To keep your worktops looking tip-top we recommend you use Q-action cleaner periodically to remove any ingrained dirt.
Never place hot plans and cookware directly onto your quartz, always use a heat pad or trivet. Although quartz is resilient and hardwearing it can be damaged by excessive heat.
The quartz manufacturers used by C&J Stonemasonry offer at least a 10-year guarantee on their products, which isn’t necessarily the case with the lower-quality, unbranded quartz used by some companies.
If you’re looking for an easy-care work surface to add the wow factor to your kitchen, quartz is the product for you.
