We love getting asked to install worktops in unusual places, over the years we’ve worked on a narrowboat, a glamping hut and a horsebox. The work can be tricky due to the limited space, but it’s very rewarding to see the finished job.
Narrowboat
Narrowboats are, by definition, narrow, so with two of us working on the installation it was a tight squeeze. It’s a good job we’re such good friends 🙂
The customer chose 20mm Polar Cap* quartz from Silestone by Cosentino which perfectly complemented the grey walls and units. There wasn’t much natural light, so the colour choice helps to brighten the room.
*This colour is no longer available but we have plenty of other worktops to choose from.

horse box
This high-end horse box was fitted with living accommodation, and the owners asked us to transform the living area.
We used 12 mm Fugen Black Mirror quartz with The 1810 Company black Purquartz sink and tap.
We also made a tabletop to go on a hydraulic leg in the seating area to form a bed and a bathroom top.

Glamping pod
In 2015 we were asked to install a quartz worktop in a glamping pod for Sam Atkinson Carpentry, and it was even featured at Driffield Show!
The worktop Sam chose was Compac Portoro which is sadly now discontinued, but we have a huge selection of alternatives to choose from, see our quartz page for the full ranges.

These jobs show that our stone worktops are not just for kitchens. No matter how big or small your job is, we can create the perfect space with our handcrafted granite and quartz worktops, just get in touch to discuss your requirements.
